Office Runner – Ruby Films
In December 2013, I interned as an office runner/assistant for Ruby Film & Television. This entailed taking calls, ordering stationary, script research, script-reading, organising archive files & topping up printing resources. I was also responsible for keeping the office and kitchen area tidy, making much needed tea and coffee and meeting & greeting guests.
Even a bit of redecorating was on the agenda!
I met a great team, not only Ruby employees but even the painter gave me some advice. I loved reading through the many scripts in development, as well as reading drafts of those in production. I even got to edit a line in the upcoming ‘Suffragette’! Exciting stuff, no-one will ever know that, but I will!
It was certainly an informative month, just as ‘Saving Mr. Banks’ hit our cinemas and Christmas came along. I was sad to leave the buzz behind. It made me really want to experience production assisting on-set, which of course is still the aim. I still miss my desk!
Thanks to all the guys at Ruby for having me!
