Production Assistant – National TV Awards 2014
Having worked as a runner last year with indigo TV, I was lucky enough to step up as a Production Assistant this year. So January 22nd was the beginning of a very busy week for me but definitely a great one.
My responsibility was to organise the hundreds of seat-fillers that volunteer each year and co-ordinate access to and from stage right. This basically meant that I only allowed people in and out during TX breaks and as soon as winners left their seats to collect awards etc. I would then have to count in the correct amount of seat-fillers to fill out the auditorium so that on camera, seats don’t look empty. Simple right? HAH. With celebs wandering about willy nilly and seat-fillers wanting to take photos amongst all of the excitement I felt the need to switch on my ‘matron’ voice, which seemed to go down rather well. I had a great laugh in the end with both talent and seat-fillers so thanks for being nice to me guys!
A great experience once again. Stressful whilst live but I worked with a great team and would love to work with Indigo TV again next year for the third year running!
