Development Intern – TwoFour

On April 8, 2014 by katmace@me.com

After some work we’d done at university involving mentoring from TwoFour development team, I was lucky enough to enquire about gaining some more experience with them.

It resulted in being offered week of work experience within London team. Roles included sourcing images for treatments, researching facts, locations and statistics to assist in pitching shows as well as pitching ideas for TV formats to the rest of the team. I also was responsible for researching businesses and speaking to them on the phone, to see if they were interested in being a part of the taster for a new format.

Of course, I would elaborate upon the exciting ideas I got involved in but that would be disloyal. I have to say, I got a real taste for being in the hot-seat and it truly made me think about the kind of things you have to consider when pitching to  commissioner. What channel is it, what tone does that channel go for, who are their audience, which subjects are they interested in… to name a few.

It also made me realise just how important reading the metro can be when brainstorming!

<– Lack of money & life crises: two areas of public interest there already.

A really great week filled with stuff to do, my second stint with the TwoFour team – well third – if you count the logging. Even got to enjoy some lunch in the rooftop garden. Perfect.
